Celtic Essence
This album has proved to be the most difficult
album for us to complete so far. We started to record it
in August 2006 and now nearly one year later we have finally
finished it. There have been many ups and downs along the
way. We have had the pleasure of working with some fabulous
people and to each and every one of them, we would like
to say a sincere and heart felt thanks. We both love to
sing Irish songs and we thought that it would be easy to
produce this album. But we have struggled to find the right
blend, feel, mood, sound, call it what you will.
Many times we have had to go back to the beginning
and start again. I am sure that we have frustrated, dissapointed
and literally driven some of our friends mad in our search
for the Essence sound. Thank you all for your patience,
help and understanding. We can only hope that you will like
what we have done. It has been a learning experiene and
we believe a fruitful one.
Originally all the songs were going to be
on just one album. But as we progressed through the recording,
it soon becamse clear that finding the right running order,
never mind the right blend of songs would be very difficult.
There was always going to be a divide between
the beautiful old classing sings and my new original compositions.
This is why we have decided to produce a two CD album. Some
of our friends prefer the Golden Oldies, while others prefer
the new ones. I thought that the older generation would
be the ones to prefer the classic sings. But I was wring,
I guess that it's not how old you are, but how young at
heart you are that matters.
